Holly Lomax is a Cambridge-trained architectural historian turned interior designer, with a particular expertise in working with historic homes. Before becoming an interior designer, she spent five years advising on the restoration and alteration of listed buildings, primarily exceptional private residences for discerning clients. Her academic training and professional experience as a historic building consultant have given Holly a unique perspective as an interior designer.
Holly went on to train in the studio of internationally renowned designer Rita Konig, later working as a senior designer for other top studios specialising in timeless English interiors. During this time she developed her distinctive approach to decoration: rooted in tradition but full of personality, and grounded in the realities of daily life, with a strong emphasis on comfort.
Holly founded her own studio in 2022, and today she works with private clients across the UK and abroad, offering a flexible, collaborative design service that puts warmth, authenticity and excellence at its core. Her work is especially well suited to clients living in historic homes, and to those who value comfort, craftsmanship and a sense of history in their interiors.
Alongside her consultancy work, Holly has developed a range of Off-the-Peg Design Schemes - curated decoration schemes designed to help clients achieve a professionally designed interior in a more flexible, time-efficient way. The schemes reflect Holly’s signature style: layered, characterful, and full of joy.
Holly brings a unique perspective to English interior design - informed by her background in architectural history, shaped by years of experience at the highest level, and coloured by her own creative intuition and personal journey. Her approach is collaborative and intelligent, helping each client to create a home that is not only beautiful, but also deeply personal, emotionally supportive, and a true reflection of who they are.
